This turned out to probably be Chalk Screw-moss (Tortula vahliana) A first for Norfolk if confirmed by the referee.

Truly extraordinary to hear the discussions over the id of particular mosses.
Cockthorpe Common is situated in the valley of the River Stiffkey, where steep slopes support a diverse chalk grassland flora and it is a designated SSSI.
It is one of the few unimproved chalk downland sites left in Norfolk and contains a rich flora, including a number of uncommon species.
